  Job Description
  
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Perform final finishing of medical implants and instrumentation.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
All duties and requirements are essential job functions unless otherwise identified with an asterisk (*) as non-essential in accordance with criteria.

Polish
- Identify and understand the use of specialized tooling, belts, wheels, compounds, and fixtures when necessary.
- Maintain and perform proper operation of the polishing or deburring wheels used to produce product as indicated on blueprint and  by training records.
- Maintain proper machine maintenance as specified on a daily basis.
Verification and Inspection:
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Utilize inspection equipment including comparators, micrometers, calipers, and any gauges such as pins, plugs and thread gages.
Communication Skills:
- Clearly communicate with manufacturing personnel to identify and correct non-conforming product during the manufacturing process.
- Clearly communicate with Polish Department Supervisor and/or Director of Quality regarding inspection criteria.
Supervision:
-  Direct or indirect supervision of one or more person(s) if applicable.
Documentation
Document production and non-conformance according to SOPs and ISO certifications.
Accurately record work in process transactions.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma (or equivalent).
Medical manufacturing experience preferred.

B. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Proficient in reading blueprints.
Proficient in usage of inspection equipment.
Must exhibit basic computer skills.
Must exhibit good basic math skills.
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.

D. PHYSICAL/SENSORY/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL
JOB FUNCTIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts with minimal risk of electrical shock. There are also airborne particles of cutting oil, coolant, dust, acid / chemical vapors, and flying debris present in the surrounding shop areas.
